The Ellen Hermanson Foundation is a grass roots community organization dedicated to providing funding for breast health care on the East End. In 2008 founder Julie Ratner and Cathy Tweedy, along with the Foundation Board of Directors, committed to raise money for a breast health center and were able to succeed in that mission during the financial crisis. The Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital was created. The organization has grown and thrived over the years, with the support of the community.

Executive Director Anne Tschida Gomberg explains that “The Ellen Hermanson Foundation’s mission is to provide access to high quality breast health care on the East End and support for people affected by breast cancer.  We are especially committed to extending outreach to those in most need of help, to provide annual screenings and followup.”

The organization’s premier event is Ellen’s Run, which is a hybrid event this year happening in person on Saturday, August 21, at Southampton Intermediate School. Runners and walkers can also participate virtually–anytime, anywhere.

A Kickoff event to the 27th annual Ellen’s Run is The Spring Warmup Dance Party, on Saturday, April 30th at the Bridgehampton Community House from 6:30-10:00 pm. Enjoy live and silent auctions, tastings, drinks, dancing and more!

Anne Gomberg notes that “After the last couple of years, we’re all ready to dance!”

Come out and support the work of the Ellen Hermanson Foundation!
